Gold at Visuelt 2017
We are really happy to announce that our brand typography design for REMA 1000 designed together with Letters from Sweden won gold in the ‘Type Design’ category at this year’s Visuelt Award. Big thanks to the jury, our team and to our great clients!
Congratulations to our friends at Kahlo for a hugely successful launch yesterday! We’re happy to be part of the journey from a branding perspective. We created a playful logotype for them with lots of personality, just like the women behind Kahlo.
Kahlo is an agency and production-company within the live-entertainment industry, working with some of Sweden’s most established and beloved artists, actors and comedians.

A Bold class
What is the foundation for a strong corporate identity? How big role does the typeface play for brand recognition? What makes an corporate identity work and what doesn’t? We gave the task to design students from Berghs School of Communication to analyse different brands and their CVIs and try to answer these questions during a two days workshop.

Agency of the Year
Last night our Stockholm office was awarded 3rd best branding and design agency in Sweden at the Agency of the Year Awards. The competition is Sweden’s largest qualitative study that crowns its winners by customer satisfaction and is based on results from over 3000 customer interviews. It was a tight race at the top and while this news is positive, it also makes us even hungrier to win next year!

Bold goes brutal
Every week all Bold creatives meet up to either inspire each other, or get inspired by somebody we´ve invited. This week our french intern William Fonteneau talked about the history of an extreme music : the black metal and how we can translate a violent music into design. Far away from readability and minimalism those logos take inspiration in nature and brutality for an emotional result. “If you can read the name of the band in the logo, it’s not brutal enough.”

Oskar on the Dubai Lynx jury
We are proud to announce that our founder and executive creative director Oskar Lübeck has been invited to sit on the design jury of the 2017 Dubai Lynx Awards.

Marcus speaker at Pure North
For several years, Scandinavian graphic designers are increasingly causing sensation, setting one global trend after another. Vanessa Schnurre and Michael Haberbosch are organizing a symposium on this topic in cooperation with the Muthesius University.

Pontus In The Air sneak peak
Bold Stockholm are working on several exciting projects together with famous Swedish chef and resturateur Pontus Frithiof. One of the most exciting ones, we think, is the new restaurant Pontus in the Air that will open this spring at Arlanda Airport terminal 5. The restaurant will be the first at Terminal 5 will have its own production kitchen and passengers will also be able to order takeaway food.
“Pontus In The Air is a very exciting project that is unlike anything else available at Arlanda today. Our goal and hope is to become the best airport restaurant in Europe” says Pontus Frithiof.

Bold digital lab
We have built a digital test station to verify that the design we develop looks good for all end customers. It’s only a very few percentage of end users having high resolution Apple monitors. Therefore we have a setup of different PC and Apple screens, Laptops, TV-monitor and a range of mobile devices to secure colors on all different devices.
We also need to verify how typefaces are hinted on different platforms, this is not easy and extremely important when the hinting/rendering of typefaces can differ a lot between different platforms like OS X, Windows and Linux.
All users should be able to experience good design!

Agency of the Year
Yesterday was the award ceremony for the “Agency of the year” and we are happy and proud to let you know that our Stockholm office was ranked 3rd best branding- and design agency in Sweden this time around. It was a really tight race between the finalists and our friends at Söderhavet took home the 1st prize. Congratulations you guys! The “Agency of the year” awards is Sweden’s largest qualitative study that crowns its winners by customer satisfaction. The results are based on over 2,700 customer assessments and there was 179 agencies in the study this year.

Iittala x Issey Miyake
This week the Iittala x Issey Miyake Collection was launched at Stockholm Design Week, and we are proud to announce that our Stockholm office have been working with the two brands to create the collaboration identity. The collection includes 30 textile, ceramic and glass pieces for the home.
“The continuous research and development for clothes making of Issey Miyake is now crystallised in the collaboration project with Iittala,” said Midori Kitamura, president of Miyake Design Studio. “The textile items are created using not only the latest technology to fold and pleat the material but also the delicate handwork.”

Oskar jury member at the Golden Egg Awards
The Golden Egg Awards is Sweden’s oldest, largest and most prestigious competition for the communications industry. We are happy to announce that our founder and Creative Director Oskar Lübeck has been chosen for this years packaging and corporate identity jury.

Folksam sneak peek
Bold Stockholm is currently developing a new visual identity for Folksam, one of Sweden’s largest insurance companies. The challenge was to create a coherent visual identity that reflects both a credible insurance company and that at the same time responds to the warm emotional values that the brand stands for. An important component of the new identity are the more than one hundred playful and unique icons that are both carriers of information about different products as well as a visual link through the entire identity.
During this year we will reveal the full Folksam identitity – keep an eye out!
Oskar judge in Creativepool
Our founder and Executive Creative Director Oskar has been chosen to be a judge in the Creativepool 2016 typography category. The Creativepool is a selection of the finest creative work in the world showcased both online and in 15 000 bound books that are distributed in the creative community worldwide. Winners will be announced at the launch party in March 2016 in London.
50 Watt for SAS!
We are happy and proud to announce that the new SAS communication concept have won 50 watt in the prestigious “100-wattaren” – an award that honors advertising campaigns or units that have generated quantifiable results. The advertising concept was created by our friends at Åkestam Holst and we, as part of SAS´s new visual identity, have created the design guidelines for all new communication. Bold is growing and we welcome two new designers to our Copenhagen team, Matthew Glover & Aske Gramstrup.
Matthew: “I’m a graphic designer from the UK that took the plunge this summer and packed up all my things, got on a plane and came to Copenhagen. 3 months in and everything is starting to feel like home!”
Aske: “Hello! You’re looking at the new ginger, and tallest person at the Copenhagen Bold office, hence the nickname “Ginger Jordan”, even though i really suck at basketball. I’m newly arrived from Jutland, where i’m still finishing up school & I really look forward to be a full on member of the Bold team.”
Bold wins gold at Visuelt
Bolds very own Derek Ercolano won 2 gold in the packaging categories at the Visuelt 2015, Scandinavias biggest Visual Communication awards. Both golds were awarded for his work with Daniel Kvammens new record cover. Creative director Roar Sager also won a gold, a nomination and won the best of show award for work done at his previous company. A great start for Bold Oslo!
This week we are launching the e-commerce Kökets favoriter owned by Tv4-gruppen and AdLibris. Bold has been working with the brand strategy, platform and visual identity.
Kökets favoriter is a place where you can find inspiration and the products that are needed to succeed in the kitchen. More to come on this project – keep an eye out!
Finalist in LIA Awards
Our packaging design for Pressbyrån was chosen as a finalist in the prestigious London International Awards 2015. The LIA Awards is judged by a diverse global jury where approximately 100 creatives worldwide are invited to judge on-site in Las Vegas. The Juries are comprised of the most talented, recognised and awarded individuals from within their respective fields.
Oskar in Adobe Award jury
The Adobe Nordic Creative Talent Award was founded by Adobe Nordic and the Swedish magazine CAP&Design to find and draw attention to the most creative talents under the age of 28 from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. The jury consists of four members, one from each country. Nominations are open until October 8 and winners will be announced at the Adobe Creative Meet Up on November 12.

Welcome Derek & Christina!
Bold Oslo is growing and we welcome two new designers to our team, Derek Ercolano & Christina Magnussen.
Christina comes from a background working in design studios, had her own small company and has been part of an illustration agency. Derek has spent the last years focusing on graphic design and illustration within the communication industry and is always surprised by how many new things one can learn from shifting between the two disciplines.

Bronze in Pentawards!
Our work with Lilla Hjärtat has been awarded a bronze in the 2015 Pentawards, one of the major worldwide competitions exclusively devoted to packaging design in all its forms. The project has also won a silver in The Dieline Awards, a bronze in The Clio Awards and a gold in the category “Best Design” by Resumé, Scandinavias largest business newspaper focusing advertising, media and marketing.

Bronze in Clio Awards!
Bold has been awarded a bronze at the Clio Awards 2015, a global awards competition that showcases the world’s best creative projects. That we are the only Scandinavian design agency to receive a statue in the packaging category doesn´t hurt either. We received the award for our work with Lilla Hjärtat, where we invited children to show us their world.

We are currently working on a new visual identity for SAS and a part of the project is a collaboration with our friends at Åkestam Holst creating a new look on all communication. The latest campaign, displaying a big and bold (!) SAS logo, is one of our favourites so far.

Yay – our work for Apotek Hjärtat has won a silver in the 2015 Dieline Awards! The Dieline Awards are a worldwide design competition recognizing the world’s best consumer product packaging design. Each year, judges choose winners from over 1000 products across 13 categories.

Bold winner in the Creativepool Annual 2015!
Our work for The Shirt Factory has been selected as a winner in the branding category of the Creativepool Annual 2015, a selection of the finest creative work in the world. The jury’s opinion read as follows:
“Perfection, finish and quality has been the hallmarks of The Shirt Factory for over 25 years. So when they wanted to invigorate their brand, it was inevitable they chose Bold, the top Swedish design agency. The project was allencompassing, including a new logo, signage and packaging. A crest made of tailoring equipment paired with a strong yellow colour, injects a youthful tone to the new identity.”

Bold wins bronze in Agency of the year
We are happy and proud to announce that Bold won bronze in the Agency of the year-awards 2014 in the category Brand & Design. The competition crowns its winners by customer satisfaction – so a big thank you to all of great our clients and of course to our fantastic team!
New interior concept for Pressbyrån
We have together with our friends at StudioNOC created a brand new interior concept for Pressbyrån, a nationwide convenience store chain with around 305 stores. We are currently working on other exciting projects together with Pressbyrån – so keep an eye out for more work!
Historical gold in Eurobest
Hurray! Our work for the Swedish History Museum has won a gold award in the prestigious Eurobest Awards!
The new identity has since its launch won several awards in prestigious Swedish and international creative competitions, such as The Red Dot Awards, Cresta Awards, LIA Awards, Kolla! and now a gold in Eurobest.
