A new brand platform and interface design for Sweden’s leading online auction site
Tradera is one of the leading online commerce services as well as the biggest shopping site in Sweden, with over 2,5 million members. Tradera was founded in 1999 and acquired by eBay in 2006. Originally Tradera was based completely on private auctions but today visitors can purchase both new and second hand items through auctions as well as fixed price listings. A normal day at least 1 500 000 ads are on the site.
We were asked to develop a new brand plat- form, a new visual identity and a new user interface design for Tradera. Included in the branding project was a new logotype, color palette, typography, icons and splashes, and imagery.
The old Tradera had a cluttered layout and the logotype, typography and icons felt outdated. To become more emotional and relevant to the consumers we needed to strengthen Traderas personality. We gave them a more personal and playful logotype that together with the strong yellow color are the main carriers of the new brand.
Together with the client we developed a new dynamic layout and more friendly and easy-to-use interface. We also developed unique icons to differentiate Tradera against other players. The new icons adds value and contributes to a cohesive and personal Tradera look.
