We are very happy to introduce our Design Director Karin van der Kwast Gissberg! She has over 17 years of experience within design and branding, and started off with studies at Berghs School of Communication and Central Saint Martins, London. After working at creative agencies both in London and Stockholm, including the past 9 years running her own design studio, she is since 2019 a part of the Bold Stockholm team.

Karin has a wealth of experience from the food & beverage (gastronomical) scene. She has created concepts, branding and design for restaurants around the world, including the renowned 5-Michelin starred Frantzén Group with chef Björn Frantzén.

Her many years of working with packaging design is also a great addition to Bold’s offer. Previous work ranges from branding to retail and physical spaces, to more hands-on Art Direction and crafting design details, with clients such as Unibail-Rodamco, NK, Åhléns, Carlsberg, Arla, Oriflame, H&M, Villa Moda (Dubai), Monsoon (London), SAS etc.

“I’m delighted to be part of the amazing team at Bold. Both in terms of the high-level strategical work and conceptual thinking, balanced with the approach to careful attention to details and craftsmanship.

I believe in looking at design from a holistic perspective, whether it’s a packaging design project, a brand identity or a physical space including the whole experience of spatiality, unwrapping, sound, touch and feel. Emotional value and the complete consumer/guest journey are interesting parts of branding. The curiosity and strive for new sustainable and innovative materials and approaches to design are pushing the industry forward. We have an exciting way ahead of us and I am looking forward to be part of this journey at Bold.”
