Granen, a small hotel in the north of Sweden, asked us for help in creating a new identity – and the idea presented itself when we visited the first time. It was like a fairy tale come to life.
The concept behind the logotype is based on a drop cap, often used in the beginning of a fairytale. The living and dynamic G can be filled with static or animated illustrations, giving the hotel an opportunity to constantly develop and adapt to different uses and occasions.
Granen is a small hotel with a very limited budget, so we needed to find a clear idea for the identity, and use as small means as possible to bring it to life. The solution is based on our first impression when we visited the little hotel: it ́s like a fairytale come to life.
